Karenne P. Levy is the President/CEO of MacDonald Training Center, Inc. (MTC), Tampa’s premier provider of services to people with disabilities and an organization recognized for its transformational and innovative service approach. A model where people with disabilities are valued as contributing members of their community and are able to develop their skills, talents, and to pursue their dreams to live the lives they choose. Ms. Levy is an experienced, mission-driven non-profit leader who believes in empowering people by providing them with the opportunities necessary for them to lead and sustain independent lives. Ms. Levy comes to MTC from H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Center, where she led their Department of Patient Experience. Ms. Levy joined Moffitt after 14 years at Quest, Inc., a non-profit serving those with disabilities in Central Florida where she served as the Chief Operating Officer.
Ms. Levy currently serves on the Mayors Autism Friendly Tampa Advisory Committee and on the Board of Directors for the Florida Association of Rehabilation Facilities (FARF) where she chairs the Employment Forum, the HART ADA Accessibility Task Force. Ms. Levy is also on the Board Directors for the Tampa Museum of Art and is a member of the Education Committee. She previously served on the Board on the Board of Directors at Quest Inc.
Ms. Levy is leading MacDonald Training Center into a period of unparalleled growth and expansion. Under her leadership, the respected non-profit is expanding vitally needed services to people on the Autism Spectrum, including summer and after school programs for children and youth. She is leading an expansion of employment placement services delivery to people who are deaf and hearing impaired, throughout both Hillsborough and Pinellas counties.
The transition of MacDonald Training Center into a true career resource center for people with disabilities under Ms. Levy’s leadership has been recognized by community and professional organizations. In September 2022, FARF showed the great respect of her peers, by granting Ms. Levy the prestigious Katie Porta award for Excellence in Administration.
Under her leadership, MTC received the 2021 Innovation in Technology award from FARF. MTC won the 2021 One Tampa Bay award from the Tampa Bay Business Journal in recognition of the innovative eMerge Career Collaborative program of elevated post-secondary educational opportunities for young people on the Autism Spectrum, developed under her guidance. Ms. Levy’s vision and expertise was recognized by The Able Trust in 2019 when she was awarded the George Spelios Leadership award. Ms. Levy and MTC were feted as “Social Entrepreneur of 2018” by the TIE CON Florida, part of a global network of technology entrepreneurs who foster entrepreneurship through mentoring, networking, and education.
Ms. Levy completed the Certificate of Specialization in Strategy from Harvard Business School Online in October 2021, which required 3 classes from HBS Online. She received her Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Miami Institute of Psychology, her BA in Psychology from the University of Western Ontario, and Graduate Professional Certificate from Sacred Heart University School of Business. Ms. Levy lives in South Tampa with her husband and son Sebastien.
