George W. Dollar
George W. Dollar is currently a professor at 3 local college(s) in the Tampa Florida area, teaching Project Management & Business at South University, Economics at Hillsborough Community College and Information Technology at St. Petersburg College. He has taught online classes, face to face classes and hybrid modalities for over 20 years. He worked with MTC to establish the center as a Microsoft Certified Training and Testing site for the Office MOS certifications, IC3 and MTA (Microsoft Technical Assistant). He also helped MTC become a trainng and testing site for MSSC – the organization that oversees the logistic curriculum. His education includes a bachelor’s in general studies, MBA in business, graduate work in Economics, and doctoral work in Information Technology.
After working as a project manager, he completed a Master in Project Management – MPM – degree in February 2012. He recently completed the Certification from MSSC to be an Instructor for CLA certification courses. In addition to educational endeavors, he has enjoyed working for 3 major corporations – Cowles Media Company in Minneapolis – owner of Mpls. Star and Tribune newspaper, then as the project manager for a “start-up” publication – USA Today Newspaper – as they rolled out market delivery to the Twin cities area of Minnesota and then regional operations manager for them in Milwaukee WI. His experience at the newspapers included logistics, distribution, marketing and operations. Taking a break from teaching college – in 2006 he took on a competitive intelligence project in the marketing department of Raymond James Financial Services in St Petersburg, FL. One of his most rewarding endeavors was a project for the founding family of GRACO – juvenile furniture company – researching market opportunities for mobility devices to serve children with disabilities. Some of the research was incorporated into his doctoral program. He has found what he has a passion for, and that is facilitating others to learn about business and technology.
